Nike+ Kinect Training demo out

Nike+ Kinect Training has a demo, YAY! Now you can try out all those personalised exercise routines in your home but only if you have a large room to do it all in. You need 8 ft or 2.4 m in order to use the training game but assuming you have that space, you should get a taste of what’s to come.

It’s marketed pretty heavily as a game that professional athletes can use, as well as us regular people for our personal training. Whether it will replace the likes of Your Shape Fitness Evolved or Dance Central is a matter to be seen.

Kinect Demo Roundup

Over the last few days, some new Kinect demos have cropped up on the marketplace. Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth and Dance Central 3 now have demos for you to play and help decide whether you’ll pick up the full games later this month. Dance Central 3 is due for release in the US on the 16th and 19th in Europe. Marvel Avengers on the other hand is out on the 30th in the US and coming soon in Europe; though retailers seem to have November 9th down for preorders.

Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth is being developed at Ubisoft Quebec; the same team behind the super hero themed PowerUp Heroeswhich was reasonably good. The demo involves a singular battle pitting The Hulk and Thor versus Captain America Skrull and Magneto Skrull. If it sounds fun then stick it in your download queue here.

Dance Central 3, the latest installment in the ever popular dance series, also has a demo; which you can grab here. This installment will offer more of the same core gameplay; as well as a “beginner” difficulty, a story mode and some expanded multiplayer party modes.

If you pick up either of them, we would love to hear what you think in the comments below.

Kinect Sports Ultimate Collection Demo out now

[springboard type="youtube" id="xnOXLvfqYP8" player="xbla001" width="640" height="360" ]

Kinect Sports is easily one of the go to titles, for both party play and general fun with the Kinect. So much so, that they even released a second game in the series. Kinect Sports: Season 2 brought the total number of sports up to 13; with variations on specific parts of those sports, leading to a large number of minigames. Now with the release of Kinect Sports Ultimate Collection the demo has also arrived.

If you missed the games first time round; then now is your chance to pick them up at a bargain price, plus no disc swapping required. Still if you are unsure, then it can’t hurt to queue up the demo from here.

Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure review

Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure was developed by Asobo Studio and published by Microsoft Game Studios. It was released on March 20, 2012 and retails for $49.99.

Kinect Rush begins on a school bus headed to Pixar Park, the place where the magic happens. Lush vegetation grows around the attraction and its five theme parks. The themes are directly descended from the familiar films Toy Story, Cars, The Incredibles, Up, and Ratatouille. Each area of the park has humungous representations of the films, whether it be the recognizable Eiffel Tower in Ratatouille or Mr. Fredricksen’s sky-bound home from Up. Each area looks as if it’s pulled straight from the movie it’s from, and best of all, the whole park is crawling with kids looking for fun, adventure and friendship.

Homerun Stars Screenshot

It’s been a few weeks, but there still has been no confirmation that the above screenshot is definitely from Homerun Stars, an upcoming Kinect-based XBLA baseball title. 123Kinect, however, is pretty certain, as mentioned in this article. The argument also seems to make sense, and a cursory glance over the picture would satisfy any onlooker that this, most certainly, seems to be Homerun Stars. Would Microsoft make it that easy though? Or is there something else lurking in the shadows?

Wreckateer review (XBLA)

Wreckateer was developed by Iron Galaxy Studios and published by Microsoft Studios. It was released on July 25, 2012 for 800 MSP. A copy was provided for review purposes.

Wreckateer has been on everyone’s minds since the first gameplay videos surfaced, and even more so since it was announced as part of this year’s Summer of Arcade. We’ve already previewed the game twice (here and here), and came away pretty impressed both times. But can the final version stack up against last year’s runaway Summer of Arcade hit Fruit Ninja Kinect?

In Wreckateer, your Xbox Live avatar is placed on a medieval wrecking crew in charge of destroying a bunch of goblin-infested castles. Similar to Angry Birds, on each level you’re given a preset number of shots with various special attributes, such as the maneuverable flying shot or the explosive bomb shot. Your goal is to use what you’ve been given to deal as much damage as possible, using your thinking cap to figure out how to rack up a massive score. And similar to Angry Birds, the result is an addictive, fun, and surprisingly strategic game.
