Possible PES 2013 voice control

During the Microsoft E3 conference, EA revealed that FIFA 13 would be sporting some voice commands using the Kinect. Now it appears that Konami are interested in following suit with PES 2013, by letting you substitute players.

“FIFA has implemented the option to give instructions to players by voice of Kinect feature,” PES 2013′s marketing producer Manorito Hosoda told VideoGamer.

“But we think it is not so intuitive control. Kinect may be used in PES for substituting players. It is just a fresh idea, but it can be used for substituting players in the game.”

Whether it would work during the game or just during breaks isn’t touched on but hopefully they will decide on including it. They may not be completely sold with involving Kinect too heavily but if they do start adding little features like subs, then it can only be a good thing. There is a demo due out in July, before the full release later this year, so with any luck we will see it in the demo if it’s there at all.

Konami to air pre-E3 conference this Thursday

Konami has announced that it will be airing it’s semi-annual pre-E3 conference this Thursday at 7:30am EST on GameTrailers.com. While we can only guess at what will be shown, it is worth noting that Konami is home to numerous well known franchises such as Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, Frogger and Pro Evolution Soccer. The Japan based gaming giant has also been a staunch supporter of Kinect since its inception with Arcade titles such as Leedmees, Hole in the Wall and Rhythm Party, so we’re hoping to see more Kinect enabled love from Konami this year. While E3 2012 will not have officially kicked off when the conference airs, Konami will be the first major publisher to host a conference for this year’s show. We’ll bring you any and all Kinect related news from Konami’s event as it breaks, so be sure to stay tuned!

Leedmees discount

Currently, Konami is having a sale on XBLA games; of these there is a single one that sticks out for us Kinect users. Leedmees is available for a discount price of 400 MSP rather than the 800 it is usually set at. We found that Leedmees is a reasonable game and if you wish to indulge yourself with a look at our review, you can do so here. If you wish to take a glance at the other offerings on Xbox this month, then take a gander at Major Nelson’s blog here.

Two XBLA games and a Kinect demo out today

If you’ve just upgraded your internet and are dying to use it, today’s Kinect releases have you covered. For the first time ever, there are two Kinect releases on XBLA in one day. First up, we have Double Fine Happy Action Theater, a minigames collection from the mind of Tim Schafer that promises to be fun for “kids ages 2 – 102″. We also have Konami’s intriguing addition to the dance genre, Rhythm Party. If that’s not enough to sate your desire for motion-controlled goodness, the Kinectimals Now With Bears demo has also released today, even though the game released last fall. Check out the links above for their respective marketplace links, and remember to check our site for upcoming reviews of the XBLA games!

Rhythm Party free and paid DLC planned

If you can read Japanese, you’ll be able to figure out the good news from this tweet by Naoki Maeda, a producer at Konami, for yourself. Luckily, the rest of us can count on famed XBLA Fans tipster @lifelower. According to him, this week’s XBLA release Rhythm Party will be seeing plenty of DLC, some of which will be free! His translation reads:

We’re planning to release DLC for Boom Boom Dance/Rhythm Party, for you can enjoy longer. Various contents including songs will be DLC for free and charge. They’re so cool! Look out for them!

This game is already on our radars for looking like an interesting new take on the Kinect dance genre, so the news of free DLC is a totally awesome bonus. Just look at that picture and tell us you’re not intrigued too.

Rhythm Party dances onto XBLA Feb 1 for 800 MSP

Major Nelson has announced that Konami’s dance-tacular Rhythm Party will be hitting XBLA on February 1 at the middle-tier price of 800 MSP. Unlike the Dance Central series, instead of trying to match yourself up with a set of choreographed moves you’re given free reign to dance however you want, as long as you hit markers on the screen at the right time. Judging from the new trailer, which we’ve stuck after the break, it looks both intuitive and incredibly fun. It also looks like you can put on a sweet robot costume, which is always a good time. The game’s soundtrack will mix popular music with original compositions. Check out the trailer and the released track list after the break. Read the rest of this entry »

Leedmees review (XBLA)

Leedmees was developed and published by Konami. It was released on September 7, 2011 and retails for 800 MSP. A copy of the game was provided for review purposes.

Leedmees is the third game in a string of Xbox Live Arcade releases to utilize the Kinect sensor and given the lack of quality Kinect titles warranting a full release, this looks to be a good move by Microsoft. Developed by Konami, Leedmees is a puzzle game in which you take on the role of a giant who must help tiny creatures called Leedmees on to safety by using your body to form a bridge and avoiding deadly obstacles such as spikes, ghosts and beach balls.
