Dragon Ball Z Kinect is on the floor at this year’s Tokyo Game Show where IGN took video of their staff playing the game for the world to see. For the first time ever, players step into the shoes of their favorite DBZ characters, and go toe to toe in battle in first-person, using Kinect to batter your enemies with your own motions. You can check out the first video above, and then use the link below to view the second. Namco Bandai will publish Dragon Ball Z Kinect in North America on October 31st.

Free gold membership for all that have silver

At the beginning of the month we reported that a new IGN app had launched on Xbox Live and that they had partnered with Microsoft to bring all silver members a month of gold for free. Well the time has come for silver members to finally unlock all the sweet extras that gold brings players.  All it takes to redeem the free month is to follow the link below and add a credit card. This credit card will be used for the account to auto-renew the gold membership each month unless cancelled. For those looking to take part in this great deal should act soon because the offer expires after June 8 although the month of gold will last a month from time of sign up. For those still on the fence about the offer just remember that E3 is coming up and the Microsoft Keynote is available over Xbox Live but only for gold members.

Say goodbye to Inside Xbox

Major Nelson announced earlier this week that the Inside Xbox program has been canceled in many territories. It will cease to exist in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand although those of us that reside in Japan, Mexico and a few other select territories will still receive the service. The third party apps seem to be the way to go for Microsoft in recent times with all the video apps and the recent IGN app. A little food for thought however, IGN had videos on Inside Xbox but now have their own app. Will the other video providers follow with their own app as well?

IGN app and free month of Gold

IGN and Microsoft have become a duo that’s blessing us all with a pair of gifts. The first gift is today’s IGN app which allows access to various IGN video content from the 360 dashboard. Presumably this will save the hassle of using the YouTube app to find them or consulting a computer for your IGN video fix or handy walkthrough.

The IGN app is available to Xbox LIVE Gold* members in the U.S., and includes the following features:

  • Game previews, reviews, guides and gameplay videos.
  • ‘Instant access’ to game help walkthroughs and IGN’s extensive catalog of popular shows, including “The Daily Fix,” “Strategize,” “Weekly ‘Wood” and more.
  • Live streams of eSports events and content from the IGN Pro League, as well as inside access to events like E3.
  • Movie reviews and exclusive trailers.
  • Facebook sharing through Xbox LIVE.
