Nike+ Kinect Training demo out

Nike+ Kinect Training has a demo, YAY! Now you can try out all those personalised exercise routines in your home but only if you have a large room to do it all in. You need 8 ft or 2.4 m in order to use the training game but assuming you have that space, you should get a taste of what’s to come.

It’s marketed pretty heavily as a game that professional athletes can use, as well as us regular people for our personal training. Whether it will replace the likes of Your Shape Fitness Evolved or Dance Central is a matter to be seen.

Kinect PlayFit out today

Much to the chagrin of Kinectercisers everywhere, the rumored announcement of an all-in-one tracking system never materialized at E3. Microsoft evidently didn’t want to spoil the surprise, because it launched today with no warning at all. Major Nelson has all the details of Kinect PlayFit on his blog, but the general idea is to have a place that gathers data from all of your favorite exercise games so you don’t have to switch between them to see how you’ve been doing.

In addition to tracking other games, Kinect Fit Play has its own achievements, gamerscore, and avatar awards. If you’re in the US, Kinect PlayFit should be available now (although some of our staffers haven’t been able to get it yet). For everyone else, the new fitness tracker will be rolling out later this week. What do you all think about this new addition to the Kinect exercise family?

Check out the press release after the break.

Nike+ Kinect Training coming this holiday

Microsoft has announced that they are teaming up with Nike to create what they hope will be the ultimate fitness game on the Xbox 360, Nike+ Kinect Training. The game will serve as your own personal trainer, giving you access to a wide variety of exercises and workout plans, but what makes this game different is the integration that it offers. Utilizing Kinect, the game will be able to monitor your activity level and feed you a plethora of information like whether you’re burning calories, or strength training. Nike is promising that the game will be the first fitness game available that truly represents an elite level of training for athletes. Check out the first trailer for the game above. Nike+ Kinect Training will sprint onto the scene this holiday.

Rumor: Microsoft to track your fitness activity with Kinect Play Fit

TheVerge.Com is reporting that Microsoft will soon unveil Kinect Play Fit, new software that will be built into the Xbox 360 dashboard that will track your exercise and workout activities across appropriate fitness themed Kinect titles. Additionally, Microsoft will release a heart rate monitor accessory called “Joule” that will work across multiple Kinect titles that will allow you to track your own vitals and make sure they’re in line with your weight loss, strength training, or cross-fitness goals. While there are no indications as to when the Kinect Play Fit update will go live (and if it will cost money), or when the Joule accessory will ship, we expect to hear Microsoft detail the whole shebang at E3 which is now just a few weeks away. Stay tuned fitness freaks.
