Babel Rising, the game where you smite the Babylonians as they desperately try to build towers, now has a spot of DLC on offer. Released today, the download adds two new towers (bringing the total up to five) and some new units. The new units look to add some variety to the gameplay, with a heavier unit that seems to be able to build more in one go, a new priest that has a new sort of resistance, and a unit that speeds up workers that pass by it.

Babel Rising: Sky’s the Limit DLC is available now for 240 MSP here. Let us know what you think of the new additions in the comments.

What we are playing: June 17

What we are playing is a weekly column published every Sunday. Various members of the team let the world know which games have had them hooked over the past week and which they’re looking forward to.

Sean Prideaux- This week has been slow for me as I’m dealing with hayfever, but I’ve been enjoying The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It maybe a little slow to begin with but it picks up after a while and my playtime is longer than both Mass Effect 2 and 3. I also got to play Babel Rising for review.

Ryan Reynolds- The only thing I played this week was one short session of Max Payne 3. I’ve been busy working on a lot of other non-gaming projects. Including re-watching Breaking Bad from the beginning to prep for Season 5.

Nate Hubler- This week has been pretty diverse in terms of gaming. I played a ton of NCAA Football 2011 and I’m still having a blast with it. I also picked up Project Gotham Racing 3 at GameStop and while I’m really bad at I’m still having a ton of fun. I also finished off Borderlands.

Scott Waldyn- I’ve been horribly busy getting things pulled together for the next issue of my literary journal, but when I have found time to game, instead of just playing Skyrim off and on for months, I went back to the world of Halo 3: ODST. Honestly, it’s quite probably my favorite Halo title. It’s that great mix of Halo and what feels like Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner that reels me in.

Andy Tran- I’ve been enjoying all the time I spent with Ghost Recon Future Soldier reviewing it and then just having fun doing tactical missions as well as firefights. I’m also still completely wrapped by the free-to-play bug with Stronghold Kingdoms by Firefly Studios. It’s fun and a good way to keep in touch with my friends on the west coast.

What we are playing: June 10

What we are playing is a weekly column published every Sunday. Various members of the team let the world know which games have had them hooked over the past week and which they’re looking forward to.

Nate Hubler- This week was all NCAA Football 2011. The game is a ton of fun to play and watching players grow over a four season time span is great. I also got in some time with Kinect Sports and Minecraft with a few friends.

Ryan Reynolds- I was pretty busy checking out all the news from E3 so I didn’t actually play games as much as I read about them. When I was playing, I stuck to Max Payne 3. I’m replaying it’s story mode. I also picked up Dark Souls and tried to get into it, but quit after about ten minutes and don’t intend to go back. Just not my kind of game.

Ryan Fennel- This week had me fairly equally splitting most of my time between my Xbox 360 and Vita. On the Xbox side of things, I played some Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The multiplayer is a blast, but the single player and Kinect integration are lacking. As for Vita, I finished up my world tour on Virtua Tennis 4 and just started Mutant Blobs Attack. In all honesty, I think Virtua Tennis 4 is the best game on the Vita. I haven’t played a Virtua Tennis since the original, but this latest entry is fantastic!

Andy Tran- Among all the E3 excitement I just can’t put down Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The game is an excellent Xbox title and the Kinect integration just makes the gunsmith room all the better.

Sean Prideaux- I’ve been busy this week so I didn’t get much time to play but I did get some Mad Riders in and a little of the Guild Wars 2 beta. I have to start playing Babel Rising soon and try out the demo for Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor as well. I’m looking forward to both as I haven’t used my Kinect in a while.

Babel Rising launch trailer and release date revealed *Update*

Update: Eurogamer updated with a more definite release date of June 13.

Today Ubisoft released the launch trailer for Babel Rising.  No new details can really be gleamed from the quick video except for a release date and seeing how some of the god powers will be executed.  The game is set to hit XBLA in June 2012 so fans waiting for the game don’t have much longer to wait.  The god powers mimic what would be happening in real life such as mimicking lightning strikes. Seeing the powers in action really does make it seem as though this game will make you feel like God and only leaves us counting down the days until the game releases.

New Babel Rising Trailer

Babel Rising

A new Babel Rising Trailer was released today and looks as though development is going pretty darn good. In the game you play as God and the goal is to stop the Babel Tower from being constructed. There really is not to much shown in the trailer minus some, presumed, hand motions appearing going down the path of the tower. That being said the powers that God commands seem impressive with things ranging from fire to lightning. The game is slated to be released Spring 2012 and is being published by Ubisoft for XBLA. Expect to hear more news on the game as the release time frame inches ever closer.
