A playable demo of Lionhead Studios’ long awaited Kinect driven role-playing adventure Fable: The Journey is now available on Xbox Live. The Journey represents a drastic change for the franchise, as it is controlled completely via Kinect, with players casting spells, shooting a bow, and driving a horse and buggy and much more all with their own motions. The changes have been a point of pretension for many fans since the game’s revelation, but this demo offers a chance for series veterans and newcomers alike to dive in and see what The Journey has to offer for themselves. To add the demo to your Xbox 360 download queue, just follow this link.
In addition to the debut of the public demo, Lionhead and Microsoft have also revealed a large set of retailer specific pre-order bonuses. Some items will buff in-game spells that you’ll be using in the final game, while others grant experience bonuses, or silly social charms that the Fable games are known for. Head on over to The Dead Hampster for a complete listing of the items that each retailer is offering. Fable: The Journey hits shelves in North America on October 9th, and in Europe on October 12th.
