DragonBall Z Screens!

Thanks to the watchful eye of @lifelower, we can bring you these rather interesting screenshots of Dragon Ball Z Kinect. The screenshots show varying scenes from across multiple sagas, so it should feature many of the main battles from throughout the series. Score attack is the one-on-one first person battles that are depicted in most of the screens below but the story mode looks as though it will at least in part keep the 3rd person view from previous games. Actions are portrayed on cards like they are Dance Central and depict different moves, including the kamehameha. Take a gander at the screenshots below and let us know what your thoughts are on the direction the game is taking.

Thanks again to @lifelower for the find.

I Am Super! but enough about me…

Kinect Fun Labs is known to be a space full of interesting tech demos, and now I Am Super! has been released. The game looks very much like a cross between Double Fine’s Happy Action Theater and Ubisoft’s PowerUp Heroes. Whether it plays that way has yet to be seen. You can control one of four different powers: Atomic, Frost, Flame or Storm, and can fight head to head with an opponent. Using powers is all based on certain motions and you can give your Hero (sorry villains) a name which appears when you come onscreen. It comes out at the very low price of FREE so if it looks interesting the 165MB download is all you need – and you can download it right here. If you play the game at all, please tell us what you think of it in the comments.

Forza 4 Porsche pack and patch!

After EA refusing to sub-licence the Porsche licence for Forza 4, it left the game bereft of the car manufacturers products. However, from the 22nd of May you can rectify this, albeit for a price – a whopping 1600MSP. This high price is probably because of a high price for the license. Either way it does give plenty of bang for your buck. It features 30 cars, 23 returning and 7 new to the series, including the 2010 911 sports classic (first picture below) and the 2010 Baxter S (second picture below). It also contains 10 new achievements equating to 250 Gamerscore and 20 new Porsche themed career events.

The game also just had an update which has risen the level cap from a paltry 150 to a modest 999 for all the diehard fans to sink their time into. This is due to fans reaching the level cap in 4 months rather than the 9-12 months Turn 10 had accounted for. It also fixes numerous bugs and is in sync with the release of the Pirelli DLC pack. The pack is free to season pass holders but will set everyone else back 560MSP. It contains a mix of 10 cars, of which you can find details of here.

Fable: The Journey screens

The first Fable “spinoff” for the Kinect has just had some new screens released. Fable: The Journey has been very much in the dark since its original reveal. A very on-rails looking demo apparently mislead audiences, leading to a lot of fans of the series getting flustered. Peter Molyneux has said that the real game isn’t on rails even though the demo was. You can find Peter’s wall of signatures proving the game isn’t on rails here via OXM and the offending E3 demo from IGN here.

On the other hand, we are looking forward to a Fable Kinect title, and the screens below do look rather nice.

Crimson Dragon (Project Draco) details

Crimson Dragon (formally Project Draco) has had some new details announced by Famitsu. This is all in Japanese of course but luckily @lifelower has been kind enough to give a translation of the details:

“Yukio Futatsugi introduced details of Crimson Dragon. This game is a rail shooter, descended from Panzer Dragoon world. Story is typical of SF, depicting human emigrated to a planet that dragons live. He showed opening sequence. Dragon Riders are on the way to their new post, attacked with a huge dragon for hundred times bigger than their dragons. In this game, dragons are partners and enemies.

According to him, player can ride 6 different of types of dragon. This time he showed 3 dragons. Red colored “Blood Skin” that player can ride firstly,”Dark Shoulder” who has strong body and “Snow Wing” covered with hair. Blood Skin is a balanced type. Dark Shoulder has high defense but slow. Snow Wing excels in skills. His recommendation type is Snow Wing. He said “We tried to design not dragonlike dragons for this game.” And he thinks Snow Wing is just not dragonlike. Also he likes it‘s excellent in skills. Dragons can learn skills when player feed. There’re more than one hundred types of skill. Snow Wing can make the most of skills in 3 dragons showed today. By the way, appearances of dragon will change by skills.

Blood Wing                                              Dark Shoulder                                              Snow Wing

Though Crimson Dragon is a downloadable game for XBLA, He explained “This game has plenty, so you can play long and online multiplayer (up to 3 players co-op). It’s a budget title.”

He demoed the game running on console, learning skills in Camp (briefing). Each food has skill but dragon can’t always learn the skill. It’s just potential. However you feed more, the potential will be higher, so you should own plenty of food.

After learning  skills, he sallied out a mission called “Stop the nest-moving”. It’s sea stage dotted with glaciers, same as Famitsu and visitors played but places of enemies and situation were different. In middle of the mission, he collected markers, and fought  with 3 dragons. In the last, many enemies appeared from their nest looks like a fortress. He dodgeed their furious attacks, and damaged to their nest, then finish the mission. The play assessed and foods that got during the mission, showed in the result.

Futatsugi said “We enjoy developing with my old working mates for a long time.” (Their sound team worked for Panzer Dragoon before.) Development is fine and reaching the final stage now. He promised to release new information positively for launch.”

Thank you again to @lifelower for the translation, and why not take a look at the trailer for the game below?

Awesome new Crimson Dragon (Project Draco) screenshots

The Xbox in Akiba event has kicked off, and boy do we wish we could be there. Not only has Project Draco‘s name officially been announced as Crimson Dragon (it’s been rumored for a while), but Famitsu has posted a ton of screens from the game. Naturally, the shots feature a ton of awesome dragon-action, and developer Grounding, Inc. has even seen fit to throw in the genre-requisite flying whale-looking thing (see Child of Eden for more whales). Whatever kind of flying creature you prefer, Crimson Dragon seems primed to deliver an awesome Kinect experience to XBLA later this year. In case you don’t want to navigate a Japanese-only page, we’ve copied the screenshots into a gallery here, and we’ll keep you updated on any more information coming out of the event.

Kinect Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure pictures and video revealed

We’ve got a new batch of screenshots and a movie from Disney’s latest Kinect-related foray into the gaming world, and luckily they show us a little about what we can expect from the game. The video gives a great intro to some of the activities you’ll experience in the game, but more importantly it shows off some wicked cool full-body capture and how it is used in the game to create characters that look like you. The six screens cover all five of the films represented in the game, and the one from Up features a glimpse at what you might look like after being scanned. Pop on over to Joystiq to check out the rest of the screens, or watch the video after the break.

Rumor: Gears of War Kinected and Exiled?

While nothing is confirmed at this time, rumors have been circulating about Epic Games using Microsoft’s motion device for their flagship series. The speculation goes back to November 2010 when IGN reported from a source that Kinect would be used in Gears of War 3 later this year. Soon after, Cliff Bleszinski, design director for Epic, tweeted that there would not be any use of Kinect in Gears 3. That doesn’t say anything about any unannounced Gears games, though. In January, a trademark for Gears of War: Exile made itself know to the gaming press. What is it exactly?

Fast forward to this month where a supposedly leaked image of a close-up of Marcus Fenix holding two fingers to his ear communicator while a man in a picture-in-picture box does the same. The validity of the picture is in question, but points heavily to Kinect based Locust slaying. Rumors are floating around calling this game an on-rails shooter, which makes a lot more sense than a traditional GoW using motion tracking at this point. Is this Gears of War: Exile? Well, we don’t know yet and likely won’t till GDC or E3. Take a look at the picture above and judge for yourself.
